This month is all about soft pastels! Our August 2020 Basic box features a 5-set of Rembrandt soft pastels in red earth. We love this color palette for florals, landscapes, and moody subject matter. To expand on this palette, we added two Van Gogh soft pastels in light yellow and turquoise blue, and a Holbein Artist's soft pastel in cool gray #2. For outlines and highlights, we included two Bruynzeel pastel pencils in white and black. To blend your pastels, we included a 3-set of Royal blending stumps. Finally, to put your pastels to paper, we included custom 4x9" sanded pastel paper by UART. This paper is specifically made to work with soft pastels and has a 400 sand grit to catch the powdery pastel pigments.
